Ofsted
We are pleased to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 28 April 2026. The inspection recognised that The Grange School meets the Expected Standard in all key areas of school provision, including Achievement, Curriculum and Teaching, Inclusion, Leadership and Governance, Personal Development and Wellbeing, and Post-16 Provision. Safeguarding was also judged to be effective and standards were met.
The report highlights the positive progress pupils make, the strength of the support provided for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND, the quality of relationships across the school, and the broad range of opportunities available to students.
The inspection identified Attendance and Behaviour as an area that Needs Attention, with attendance remaining below national averages. Ofsted recognised the work already underway to improve attendance and acknowledged that some strategies are beginning to have a positive impact.
We would like to thank our staff, students, families and wider community for their continued support as we build on these strengths and continue our journey of improvement.
