Business at The Grange School helps secondary-age students build practical knowledge and confidence for the world of work. Through engaging lessons and real-world case studies, students learn how businesses operate, how decisions are made, and how different factors influence success in the UK economy.
This course not only develops students' understand of core business concepts, but also strengthens essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Students explore topics including enterprise, marketing, finance, and ethical decision-making, supporting their ability to think critically and apply learning to everyday scenarios.
Our approach is designed to support parents by providing clear progression and meaningful learning experiences. Students develop subject understanding alongside transferable skills that complement GCSE pathways and future study or employment, preparing them to make informed choices and contribute positively to their communities.

Who is the course for?
This course will suit students who have an interest in Business. If you want to work in a business or even set up your own then this course could be suited to you.
Successful students will have an interest in current affairs and enjoy discussing real issues that face businesses today.
What will I do on the course?
Business Studies is made up of 2 Key Themes:
Theme 1 concentrates on the key business concepts, issues and skills involved in starting and running a small business. It provides a framework for students to explore core concepts through the lens of an entrepreneur setting up a business.
Theme 2 examines how a business develops beyond the start-up phase. It focuses on the key business concepts, issues and decisions used to grow a business, with emphasis on aspects of marketing, operations, finance and human resources. Theme 2 also considers the impact of the wider world on the decisions a business makes as it grows.
